My Plaguing Question
Last night my roommate and I were having a conversation and the topic of evolution/creationism came up. The thing is, we kinda figured there were two ways to look at the topic. One, you could say that God didn't really want us to worry about the details (about how He made things, etc.), the Bible doesn't go into explicit detail, it's only one chapter of the Bible, and we're making a bigger deal of it than it has to be. Or Two, you could say that God loves us so much that He cares about every single detail (He made every person to have unique fingerprints, that's amazing). So, maybe we should care about how God did things. I think about myself, and the times I'm truly amazed by God are when I find out the randomist things that cause me to sit there and think "wow, how can anyone find this out and not believe that there's a God"
We figured that it's probably a combination of the two. Sometimes we shouldn't worry about all the details, and just understand the big picture, but other times it's important to care about the details. But, this just brings up another whole problem: having the discernment to know the difference. But, that's a different post, not today. Hmmm, maybe none of this made sense, it was really late when we chatted about this.
